| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, March 16, 2016, p. 9a Jeanne J. Anderson May 9, 1929 - March 4, 2016 Jeanne J. Anderson, 86, formerly of Prescott and West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2016. Jeanne was born on May 9, 1929 to Alfred Dana Jewell and Helen McClurg Jewell. She grew up in St. Charles, Iowa where she graduated from high school. Jeanne earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Central College in Pella, Iowa. She married M. Robert (Bob) Anderson on March 29, 1952, and from this union four sons were born. Jeanne worked in the home, raising her four sons, and then worked as an administrative assistant for The University of Iowa School of Social Work in Des Moines. She was very involved in her Scottish heritage. She volunteered for multiple organizations in Prescott and Des Moines after retirement. Jeanne enjoyed cooking and baking, and collecting Indian jewelry and art. But, above all, Jeanne loved her husband, boys and grandchildren. Jeanne is survived by her brother, John Jewell of Edmonds, Washington; sons, Scott (Anne) of Prescott Valley, Steven (Patty) of Des Moines, Iowa, Stanley (Jeanice) of Van Meter, Iowa and Stuart (Beth) of Homewood, Illinois; and grandchildren Erika, Erin, Maxim, Irma, Ian and CoIe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bob and her parents. A memorial service took place on March 8, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive, Iowa. Information provided by survivors. |
