| McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, Safford, Arizona Merijildo M. Garcia September 16, 1930 - March 14, 2016 Merijildo M. “Wedo” Garcia, 85, of Safford, passed away March 14, 2016 in Safford with this loving family at his side. He was born September 16, 1930 in Solomonville, AZ to Raynaldo & Anita Madrid Garcia. Merijildo served in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict. After his service he met and married Erminia Chavarria and together they were blessed with 4 children; Debi, Tony, Steve & Anita. He was a heavy equipment operator for Graham County by trade. He liked helping out in the community, cleaning yards, and watching horse races. He really enjoyed his retirement but most of all he loved his wife and his children. Merijildo is survived by his sons, Tony Garcia and Steve (Kim) Garcia, his sister Connie Gonzalez, 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raynaldo & Anita Garcia, his wife Erminia Garcia, his daughters Debi Nelson & Anita Garcia, his grandson Derek Garcia and brother Ray Garcia. A viewing for Merijildo will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. with the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Safford Cemetery. See Also: Find A Grave |
