| Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Isidore "Izzy" Siebenberg (September 22, 1922 - March 17, 2016) Isidore “Izzy” Siebenberg, 1922-2016, passed away peacefully on March 17th. Izzy will be remembered as a businessman who was known throughout the region for his sense of humor and ability to make people feel comfortable wherever he went. People would stop by his store, Galaxy Sales, for a minute but in the end he would end up selling them his friendship after hours of conversation. His face to face contact with each customer kept him in business for 60 years and during those years he made many friends among the Native communities. He strived to help out any way he could. He provided many Native Americans with traditional supplies. One of many common scenarios was when young Navajos and Hopis would come into the shop and say, “My grandfather told me you would know what I need for our ceremony.” He was trusted and loved by many people. He is survived by his wife, Sara Aleman, Stepson James Burns, granddaughter Cera Burns, Goddaughter Lisa Joe, and beloved family members in New York, Florida, Jerusalem, Texas, California, Indiana and Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Milka, brothers Sam, Harry, Maurice and Theodore. You will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21 at 10:00 at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. Rabbi Mindie Snyder and members of our community synagogue Heichel Baoramim will be in charge of the religious services. Memorial donations can be sent to Heichel Baoramim, 2609 N Patterson Blvd, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. |
