| Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 26, 1911, page 2, column 5 Richard Gordon Is Called by Death (From Friday's Daily) Richard Gordon, one of the best known residents of this city, and popularly known to all, passed away Wednesday night about 12 o'clock at Mercy hospital, from pneumonia. His death will be deeply regretted, for during the 20 years he had been a resident of this section, his genial personality and good fellowship had made him many staunch friends. Preceding his fatal affliction, he had been in poor health for over a year, and recently visited California in the hope of a change of climate providing beneficial. In this he failed to secure relief, and a few weeks ago was taken to the hospital, where an operation was performed. He then contracted the affliction that proved fatal. Mr. Gordon was a native of Illinois, aged 42 years, and was unmarried. He was a member of the local lodges of the Loyal Order of Moose, Improved Order of Red Men and Degree of Pocahontas and the funeral will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock under the auspices of these orders.
