| Siskiyou Daily News (Yreka CA) Wednesday, December 29, 1999 Yreka resident, Charles John "Jack" White, 93, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital in Yreka. Jack was born Dec. 4, 1906 in Arizona Territory to Charles and Lilly White and was raised in Florence, Ariz. In 1945, Jack and Kathleen "Kay" Young were married in Carson City, Nev. and lived in Sacramento for some 40 years. The couple moved to Siskiyou County in 1996. Jack worked as a correctional officer at the Folsom Prison for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting. Survivors include his wife, Kay, of Yreka; his son, Steve White and his wife, Annie, of Yreka; his former daughter-in-law, Carla Walker and his granddaughter, Alison White both of Oceanside. At his request, there will be no services. Girdner Funeral Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
