| Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, March 2, 2016 Dale Verner Shields born October 23, 1927 in Indiana, PA to Verner and Hazel Shields (Burnheimer). He was preceded in death by his wife Violet May Shields (Fink), on November 21, 2012. Survived by sons Harry (Shirley) Shields of Phoenix, AZ; Arnold (Alice) Shields of Hemet, CA; daughter Marlene (Robert) Shields of Prescott, AZ; sisters Delores Stiffler of Shelocta, Pa, and Carolyn Ubert of Force, PA, brother Robert Shields of Squires, MO ; grandchildren Richard, Jason, Bradley, and Marie; and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Peyton, and Cheyenne He brightened everyone's day with his infectious smile. He was a song writer and entertainer, recording several of his own songs on the Gemini Label in Burbank, CA. He was inducted into the Greater Arizona Country Western Swing Association Hall of Fame in 2006. He loved children and animals, and will live on in the hearts of many. Being a 32nd degree Mason, he was devoted to entertaining at many many fund raising events for sick and crippled children, including Alisha Lambert's from Chino Valley in 1995. He's now resting with his beloved wife Violet. |
