The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, April 8, 2016, page 10a Gary W. Barnes July 25, 1942 - April 2, 2016 USMC Capt. Gary W. Barnes, born July 25, 1942, passed away on April 2, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Barnes; siblings, Bob Barnes and Kerry Sorrell; and children, Kris Beck Oldenburg, Gary Barnes, Sean Barnes and Erin Macias. Gary was a husband, brother, father, athlete, cowboy and dog lover. Gary was a formidable competitor and opinionist. A long battle with leukemia was the first fight Gary ever lost and leukemia walked away battered and limping. In Gary’s honor, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Chino Valley Animal Shelter. Semper fi. Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 9, 2016, at Gary and Lynda’s home in Chino Valley. Information provided by survivors.
