| Camp Verde Bugle, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, April 2, 2016 Mark Leon Bachman 1954 - 2016 Mark Leon Bachman a beloved friend to many, passed from this life into the presence of God peacefully at home in Cottonwood, AZ, on March 24 after a long battle with cancer with his beloved Julie Bachman at his side. His brothers Ken and Jerry survive Mark, and former spouse Julie, and his stepsons, Kyle, Evan, and Cory. His father and mother, Clayton and Christine, preceded Mark in death. Mark was born September 17, 1954, in San Francisco, CA, and graduated from El Camino High School. A well-known and popular DJ for the morning radio show of 22 years on country station KVRD, many remember him as "Mark in the Morning." In an article in the Verde Independent, November 3, 2013, Mark was quoted saying upon his departure from radio, "he hopes to make an impression without words". He believed his gift was talking to people, and he truly had the best job in the state ... I get to play music, but the audience programs the show."

Julie remembers fondly that Mark has a "heart of gold", and reminded us often to make everyday matter, and will be forever in our hearts. As Garth Brooks lyrics state, "I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance."
