| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/08/2016 Harold Otto Schulz died peacefully Saturday, April 2, 2016, one month shy of his 73rd birthday. He was born to Otto August Franz Schulz and Pearl Laney in Silver City, N.M., the oldest of three brothers. Harold served for two years in the South German Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War and proud to be a life member of the NRA. Harold married JoAnne Downer Feb. 24, 1968, and together they had four children. He worked for the Gila County Sanitary District, where they knew him as “Otto,” retiring after 25 years. Harold is survived by his wife, JoAnne; children Carrie Anne, Harold Jason, Jeremy Otto and Justin August: brothers Roland Glen and Michael Andrew; son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ellis Todd. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, (N.M. time) at the Luna New Mexico Cemetery.
