Clifford “Cliff” Alan Anderson, 71, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on April 9, 2016, of complications from cancer.

Cliff was born in Chicago on Sept. 20, 1944, to Clifford and Erna Anderson. He graduated from high school in 1962 and joined the Air Force, working as an air mechanic. Upon discharge, he lived in Whittier, California, and moved to the Prescott area in 1978.

He worked a number of jobs, always returning to his career as a house painter. He could be distinguished by his white paddy cap and extensive use of station wagons as his work vehicle of choice.

Cliff was heavily active in AA, attending meetings, establishing chapters and sponsoring many to sober living. It is fitting that he died on the 42nd anniversary of his sobriety, attended to by well-wishers and celebrants from this community.

He leaves behind two children, Alan (Alicia) Anderson of

Prescott and Amy (Ian) Sharp of Toccoa, Georgia; six grandchildren; brothers Al (Cindy) and

Robert (Karen) of Florida and Indiana, respectively; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend hearty thanks to those who cared for him in his final days.

A memorial service will be at noon April 24 at the Prescott VA Chapel, followed by a potluck reception at Safe Harbor, (520 W Delano Ave.) at 1:30 p.m.

There will be no burial as Cliff donated his body to science in hopes it may shed light on multiple myeloma.
