| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, April 17, 2016, page 8a Kenneth Lloyd Lawrence, age 89, passed away at his home in Prescott Valley, Arizona on April 5, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Ken was a devoted husband and a loving father/grandfather/great-grandfather. He was an honorable and hard-working man. At age 17, Ken joined the US Navy during World War II. He served aboard the USS LST 125 as a Motor Machinist 3rd Class. When the war was over, he returned to Oklahoma and finished high school. At age 24, Ken married the love of his life: Fay. He worked hard and became an engineer specializing in exotic rubber parts. Ken eventually owned his own business where he made specialized parts for: jet aircraft, ground-to-air missile launchers, Stealth Bomber, Hubble telescope, and Space Shuttle. Ken is survived by his wife Fay; daughters Tracy, Janet and Susan; sons-in-law Roy, Michael H. and Michael M.; grandchildren Michelle, Adam, Russell, Douglas, Phillip, and Clayton; and great-grandchildren Adalynn, Lily and Owen. Ken and Fay’s 65th wedding anniversary would have been on April 21, 2016. We will be celebrating their life together at a memorial service at 11 a.m. on April 21 at Mountain Valley Church of God, 8123 E. Manley Drive, Prescott Valley. The internment will be at 2:30 pm in the Prescott National Cemetery. The family is suggesting that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made for Alzheimer’s research.
