Alice Charlene (Manke) Kerkow

Alice Kerkow, 92, of Prescott, Arizona, went to our Lord on April 16, 2016.

Alice was born Dec. 10, 1923, on a farm in Sodus Township, Lyon County, Marshall, Minnesota, to Ernest H. Manke and Anna Marie (Anderson) Manke.

Alice married Weymuth (Wey) Robert Kerkow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jordan, Minnesota, on Feb. 2, 1946.

Together they owned and operated a small gas station, 3.2 beer tavern and local gathering spot, “Wey’s Webb,” until 1975 when the family relocated to Prescott, Arizona.

Alice, worked for Sears Roebuck from 1976 until 1990, when she retired.

Some of Alice’s happiest memories were from the many trips she and Wey took throughout the years.

Alice was preceded in death by her lifelong partner Wey on Oct. 21, 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Bruce) Deutsch of Chaska, Minnesota; a son, Jeffrey (Bobbie) Kerkow of Chino Valley, Arizona; grandchildren Krista Kerkow, Rebecca Deutsch, Samuel Deutsch, Jessica Brown, and Elizabeth Kinman; great-grandchildren Valerie and Alianna (Krista),. Jasmyn, Scyler & Gabryella (Jessica) and. Bayle & Keegan (Elizabeth).

Alice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive in Prescott, with interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
