| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, April 20, 2016 Alvin E. Reiff Graveside services for Alvin E. Reiff, 76, Lawrence, Kansas, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday April 21, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas, with Dave Upchurch of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church officiating. Al died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at home. He was born Oct. 18, 1939, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Lloyd and Marjorie (Stone) Reiff. After attending Kewanee High School, he served in the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan from 1957-60. During a weekend leave, he met Jean Lundahl of Silvis, Illinois, at a roller skating rink, and they married Sept. 23, 1961. While raising his family in Cambridge, Illinois, Al worked as a journeyman pipefitter for the Rock Island Line Railroad in Silvis, Illinois for 19 years until the railroad closed, and then for four years in the maintenance department of Kewanee Public Hospital. In 1988, he moved to Florida where he was employed as a telecommunications specialist at Walt Disney World for 11 years. After he retired in 2001, he lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Branson, Missouri, Moline, Illinois and Lawrence, Kansas. Al had a strong Christian faith, enjoyed southern gospel music and loved to share his time and great sense of humor with his friends and family. He held an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License and could fix almost anything--electronics, computers and cars. Survivors include his wife Jean of Lawrence, Kansas; sons David (Sharron) Reiff of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Daniel (Mary Jo) Reiff of Lawrence, Kansas; daughters Debra (Christopher) Landt of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Diane Reiff of Kansas City, Missouri. Other survivors include his brother, Donald (Carol) Reiff of Kewanee, Illinois; and sister, Clarice (Pete) Mallery of Kewanee, Illinois; grandchildren Talia Harris, Ian (Zoe) Ginn, Melanie Landt, Bevan Landt, Megan Cage; and great-granddaughter Trinity Harris.
