Jim Koistra, 80, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, born Sept. 18, 1935 in Riverside, California, passed away April 21, 2016 in Prescott, Arizona.

Service will be at 11 a.m. May 7, 2016 at the Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, Arizona.

Jim, 80, of Prescott Valley, Arizona went to be with our Lord on April 21, 2016, at the Prescott VA Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1935, to Frank and Lillie Koistra in Riverside, California.

Jim moved to Prescott Valley in 2003 to be close to his children and grandchildren.

He was in the Army then retired from the Outdoor Advertising Industry and he became very active in the Navy League, venturing out on numerous Aircraft Carriers and ships. He’s a member of the Orange County Sheriffs Advisory, Elks, NRA and the Local Coin Club.

Jim loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger! And will be greatly missed. Until we meet again with our Lord Jesus Christ!

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sister Katherine; and brother Paul. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Bobbie; daughter Melinda and her husband Larry Silva; son Jim; grandchildren Brandon and Tyler Silva; brothers Joe, Chuck and David; sister Donna PonTell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Heights Church 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, Arizona.
