The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/19/2016 Mabel Porter Despain died peacefully April 7, 2016, in Heber surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 29, 1933, to Leslie James Porter and Alice Lestra Bowler. Mabel is survived by her husband, Marion Guy Despain, and seven daughters, Raylene Parry of Heber, Margo Chambers of Gilbert, Paula Hunt of Heber, Jena Brimhall of Heber, Robbi Hancock of Heber, Becki Lewis of Snowflake and Marian Hess of Albuquerque, N.M. She is also survived by two sisters, Rose Reidhead of Kanab, Utah, and Leslie Whitmer of Kaysville, Utah, as well as 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Heber in the chapel. Interment will be Thursday, April 21, immediately following services at the Heber Cemetery. Silver Creek Mortuary handled arrangements.
