TIEDEMANN, John

Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, September 1, 1909, page 3, column 4 German Relatives Are Tiedemann Sole Heirs (From Wednesday's Daily) In the probate court yesterday, the chief matter of importance was the will of the late John Tiedemann, who passed away in this city on the 18th of August. This will was filed yesterday, and accompanying it was a petition for the receipt thereof, and for letters of administration with the will annexed, to be issued to the Commercial Trust company of this city. Some years ago Mr. Tiedemann deposited this will with R. N. Fredericks, it being enclosed in a box, and deposited in his home among his personal effects. On the 20th of this month it was opened by Mr. Fredericks in the presence of F. G. Breecht, George H. Schuerman and C.P. Hicks, judge of the probate court. It was found to be written wholly in the handwriting of the deceased, and was executed on April 8, 1905. It clearly and specifically gave directions for the disposition of his estate, mentioning relative in Germany as the sole heirs. After the death of Mr. Tiedemann it was the general opinion of many in this city that certain friends of his in life were to be remembered, in consideration of acts of kindness, but this report was found without foundation, and the language of the document shows what the deceased desired as to the course to be followed in handling his estate after he passed away. He possessed real estate valued at approximately $6.000 and is supposed to have carried a bank account in addition. The only provision the deceased made was a verbal one, and that requested a certain friend be remembered handsomely for personal attention when he was stricken ill, some weeks prior to his death. R. N. Fredericks, a personal friend, was named in the will as the executor of the estate, and the hearing of the petition is set for September 4.
