The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, June 01, 2016, Page A-5 Heath William Melendez of Las Vegas, Nev., born May 20, 1970, lost his battle with cancer on May 23, 2016, after enduring several hard fought battles this past year. Heath, the son of Pete and Patty (Gonzalez) Muserelli of Las Vegas and Gilbert and Susie Melendez of Peoria, is survived by three sons, Joey Melendez, Sr. Airman Jordan Melendez and Heath Melendez Jr.; brothers Denny Melendez, Tony Melendez, Matthew Melendez; and one sister, Elizabeth Melendez. Heath, electrician extraordinaire and a great Dallas Cowboys fan, lived in Wickenburg and attended Wickenburg schools in his early years as did his mom, dad, brothers and several aunts and uncles. Heath also leaves behind a very large family of cousins living in Arizona, California, Nevada and the oil fields of Montana. Heath had requested to be interred next to his great grandfather, Joe T. Ocampo, at the Garcia Cemetery in Wickenburg, and through the generosity of the Garcia family his wish was granted. Heath will also be in close proximity to this mother’s ancestors, the Gonzalez and Ivie families. A celebration of his life has been held in Las Vegas with many friends. A graveside service will be held in Wickenburg at 2 p.m. June 4. Rest in peace dear son.
