| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, June 01, 2016 Russell Dennis – beloved husband, dad, son and friend – passed away of pancreatic cancer at home in Morristown at age 49 on May 29. Born in Jackson Hole, Wyo., to Barbra and Jerry Dennis, Russell was the second of three sons and had all the personality of a middle child. He moved to Wickenburg in elementary school and graduated from Wickenburg High School class of 1985. Russell enlisted in the Army out of high school. He proudly served 20 years in the military, after his tour in the Army he joined the Army Reserves and later the Arizona Army National Guard. Russell served in both Desert Storm and Operation Noble Eagle. Serving was just part of who he was, Russell was also the first volunteer and then employee of Circle City Morristown Fire Department where he served for many years before starting his own custom welding business. Russell also spent many hours as an on-track firefighter for Phoenix International Raceway. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, plus over the years he volunteered at Morristown School and with Wickenburg Little League. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and older brother Jerry. He is survived by Patty (Rothermel) his high school sweetheart and wife of 27 years; daughter Janesta; son Anthony, his parents and brother Ricky (Jane) and family. Funeral services will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 232 North Tegner St., Wickenburg, Arizona 85390 on Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul of Wickenburg or a local charity of your choice, Russell truly believed in serving both his country and his community.
