| Owens Livingston Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Russell David Brown December 31, 1960 - May 24, 2016 Russell David Brown, age 55, of Joseph City, Navajo County, Arizona passed away on May 24, 2016. He was born on December 31, 1960 in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona to his parents, Larry and MaryLee (Meehan) Brown. A United States Navy Veteran, Russell honorably served his county for 14 years before being discharged. He was stationed on the USS America (CV-66), USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida. He earned his Bachelor's of Aeronautical Engineering and Accounting from Embry Riddle, a Master's in Education from Northern Arizona University, and an Education Specialist Degree from Argosy University. He worked a life-time in the penal system holding jobs with child protective system, probation department, the Arizona Department of Corrections and as an Education Coordinator with Northland Pioneer College. His passion was assisting individuals in their time of need and he was always willing to jump right into things. He had a tremendous work ethic and was loved by many. He was a wonderful father and a devoted husband who leaves behind a loving family and wonderful friends. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Chanda Brown; son, Jacob Brown and wife, Jeanah; and granddaughter, Orion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jena. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or other cash donations, the family has established a scholarship in his name at Northland Pioneer College for anyone wishing to make donations in his honor. |
