Cornelius Altaha
August 31, 1938 - May 24, 2016

Cornelius Altaha, of Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Globe, Gila County, Arizona. He was 77. Cornelius was born on August 31, 1938 in Whiteriver, Navajo County, Arizona to his parents the late, Allen and Lizzie (Pinal) Altaha.

Cornelius truly loved and lived the cowboy way of life. He was a stockman for the Livestock Association on the reservation for many years. In the late 60’s and early 70’s he worked at the Reidhead Sawmill in Show Low. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Gerald (Olive) Altaha and Jasper Altaha; 2 daughters, Cornelia (Jimmy) Clendon and Amanda Altaha; 1 brother, Sylvester Altaha; 2 sisters, Evelyn Massey and Teresa Altaha as well as 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A two night wake will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the family home 1511 N. Yucca Flats Ave., Whiteriver. A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the North Fork Miracle Church where the interment will follow in the Whiteriver Cemtery, Whiteriver.
