The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/03/2016 Larry Allen Helsop died peacefully May 31, 2016, in Snowflake. He was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Phoenix, to Lyle and Lois Helsop. Larry attended Mesa public schools and graduated from Mesa High in 1960 where he excelled in football and wrestling. He married Sandra Hatch in the Mesa Temple in 1964. Over the years he worked a variety of jobs. He worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation for 18 years, retiring in 2006. He spent the last 10 years serving his neighbors, family and friends. Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra Helsop; children Jason (Carolyn), Chad (Karen), Blake (Belynda), Tara Warren (Tim) and Jeremy (Amanda); as well as 20 grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother Errol (Patty) Heslop and numerous extended family members. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 3, with the funeral following at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Snowflake Stake Center. Interment will be at the Mike Ramsey Cemetery in Snowflake. Silver Creek Mortuary handled arrangements.
