Barrington--Evelyn A. Peters, 100, was born in Barrington, to Charles and Louise (nee Thies) Meier. She passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Barrington.

Evelyn was first and foremost, a homemaker. She and her husband were lifelong residents of Barrington, raising their four children there.

Some retirement years were spent in Wickenburg, AZ. In her later years, she was a resident of the Lake Barrington Senior Retirement Community with her last year being spent at Alden Estates in Barrington.

She was adept at business and worked retail sales at the Bob & Betty Shop and Archer's Bootery of Barrington. She was also co-owner of the Busy Bee Shop with daughter, Betty. Evelyn was a very active member of the Community Church of Barrington for over 55 years and enjoyed games, music, and shared times.

She is survived by her children, Betty (Josef) Blasy, Joanne (R. Ron) Erickson, Richard (Priscilla) Peters, and Suzanne (Gordon) Popp; her grandchildren, David (Wendie) Blasy, Donald (Kimberly) Blasy, Daryl Blasy, Kevin (Lisa) Erickson, Michael (Sandra) Erickson, Kathleen (Marshall) Issen, Jeffrey (Pam) Peters, Jon (Lori) Popp, and Greg (Amy) Popp; eleven great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Peters; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.

A celebration of her life memorial service will be held at the Community Church of Barrington, 407 South Grove Ave., Barrington, IL 60010 to be scheduled at a later date. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington will be for family members only.

She will be remembered for her love of life, for being a generous caregiver and nurturer to many.
