| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 5, 2016, page 7a Georgeanne Lee Kannard-Greenwald (Fitzpatrick Sandler), 71, born in Prescott on Oct. 18, 1944, passed away in Phoenix on May 15, 2016, due to complications from injuries sustained on April 10, 2016, in a car accident with an uninsured driver. Georgeanne was the daughter of Martha “Boots”’ Garner-Fitzpatrick-Sandler and George Fitzpatrick, who was killed in WWII. Robert “Bob” Sandler married Boots upon returning from the war and was Georgeanne’s father. She grew up in Prescott until the family relocated to the Valley in the 1950s. She attended West High School and then earned her B.A. in education at ASU in 1967. In February of that year, she first married Robert “Bruce” Kannard, and by November of that year she had their daughter, Michelle. They divorced; she relocated to California and took her first teaching job; they remarried and relocated back to Phoenix in 1973 until divorcing in 1980. During that time, she started with the Madison School District, was active in the AEA, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, school activities, bridge clubs and earned her master’s degree. In 1987, Georgeanne became a proud grandmother to Chadwick. In 1988, she married Charles (Chuck) H. Greenwald and in March of 1989 she was having a son, Charles (Charlie). In 1991, they divorced. She was an active mother and educational professional from 1993–2016 and she settled into a live-in relationship with Chuck. During this time she had completed over 30 years of service and retired from the Madison School District and she and her dog, Holly, had accomplished Therapy Dog Training and she participated in a local TOPS group. Georgeanne was predeceased by her mother, Boots, in 2000 and her father, Bob in 2016, only four months earlier. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Bender (husband Robbin) of Phoenix; her son, Charlie Greenwald of Phoenix; her grandson, Chadwick Paul Kannard (wife Julia) of Phoenix; her uncle, Ralph Sandler of Yuba City; her cousin, Gilbert Sandler (wife Cynthia; kids Chelsea, Justin, Remington and Megan) of Yuba City; her aunt, Anna Mary Turley (predeceased by husband, Keith) of Camp Verde; her cousins, Richard Turley (wife Barbara; kids Ryan (wife Jamie) and Missy) of Scottsdale; Randy Turley (wife Kelly; kids Troy (wife Brooke) and Stacey) of Roseburg OR; his nieces, Susan Shamhart (husband Robert; kids Colette, Jodi, Jennifer and Robert) of Apache Junction; Sandy Wytroval (kids Trevor and Tanner) of Flagstaff; Phyllis Lupo (husband Paul) of Prescott (daughter, Bethany (husband James; son Gilbert) of Mesa); her cousins, Dana Gaston (wife Jan; kids Mychal, Daniel and Andrew), Steve -Case (wife Kathy); Trey Clark (wife Kathleen; son, Franklin ); Armando Lopez (wife Jennifer; son Antonio) of Gilbert.
