| Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Friday, October 25, 1901, page 1, column 8 Charles Yates was found dead in bed in a room of his residence in southeast Prescott yesterday morning. His death is attributed to heart failure. He was a native of England; came to this country in 1863, and has resided here every since. He came to Prescott from Texas, but landed in New Orleans when he came from England. He has a brother and sister somewhere in California. He was a pioneer well digger of Prescott and had followed the business of digging wells and cleaning out wells for years. ------------------------------------------- Prescott Morning Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Saturday, October 26, 1901, page 3, column 3 Local Intelligence - The funeral of the late Charles Yates took place from Logan's undertaking parlors yesterday afternoon. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a number of old timers. Rev.
