Frank Lester Young, 92, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, in Prescott. He was born Nov. 23, 1902, in Phoenix, Territory of Arizona, to Frank John and Susie Lucille (Mitchell) Young.

Frank moved to Prescott from Phoenix in 1908 and was employed as an automobile reconditioner with Neil Hurt Chevrolet. He retired in 1971.

Frank had been a member of many subtle fraternities in Prescott, having lived close to a century and being a fine musician.

He lived with a caring heart and a lending hand. He will be remembered by young and old as a legendary living fixture of Prescott.

He entertained everyone with his free spirited humor and musical talent. He will will always be remembered by friends and strangers alike for his ability to make friends and present a harmonious atmosphere. But most notable was his annual participation in the Forth of July Prescott Whiskey Row Boot Race at his senior age and will winning the annual event. He will always bee a winner.

Survivors include his sons: Patrick I. of Union City, Calif.; Frank L. of Hayward, Calif.; Edward M. of Hayward, Calif.; daughters: Sylvia Inez Young of Phoenix, and Loretta M.S. Young of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Edward Young and John Young, both of Tacoma, Wash. Twenty-two grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Sidney Williams of Tacoma, Wash.; and nieces, Charlotte, Caroll and Stephanie.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, with the Rev. Tommy Horton officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Private cremation will be at Mountain View Crematorium in Prescott.
