| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, June 12, 2016, 6a Vernon Knapp, 57, of Phoenix, was born in San Francisco, grew up in San Diego and in 1974, moved with his family to Prescott. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1978 and married his high school sweetheart and fellow Star Trek fan, Tami Tone. They both worked for Mountain Bell until the Prescott office closed, when they transferred to the Valley. Vern retired from Qwest in 2002. Vern had a talent for electronics and loved computers, photography, movies, Disneyland, games and his birds. He enjoyed his role as organizer of North Phoenix Games! through Meetup. Vern died unexpectedly and is missed by his wife, Tami; mother; three sisters, Beth, Robin and Marie; two lifelong friends, Jay and Victor in California; and his Arizona friends. Per his request, no services will be held. Donation can be made to a favorite charity. Information provided by survivors. |
