Mary Ruiz Encisco - 1939-2016


Mary Ruiz Encisco, 78, of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was born to the late Cornelio and Makaela Ruiz, May 12, 1938, in McNary, Arizona.

Mary was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona along with her 8 brothers and sisters who have all preceded her in death. It was in Flagstaff where she met and married her husband Emmanuel Y. Encisco Jr, who she leaves behind.

They moved to Cottonwood in 1972. They were married for 57 wonderful years. Before retiring, Mary was a server at Cottonwood Village for 20 years. Mary and her husband raised a family of four children: JoAnn Encisco of Cottonwood, Manny Encisco of Paradise Valley, Josie Encisco Hammond (Dave) of Flagstaff and David Encisco of Paradise Valley. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Cecilio Trillo and four grandsons and one granddaughter.

Mary was an active member of the St. Cecelia Catholic Mission. She loved to spend time with her family. She was loved by all came in contact with her. Please, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Westcott Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Burial will be held following mass at Cottonwood Cemetery, Azteca Lodge. An online guestbook is available to sign at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
