Betty Lou (Silva) Burk

Wife, mother and grandmother Betty Lou (Silva) Burk, 82, resident of Indio, Calif., died March 29, 2016, of natural causes in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at the Brookdale nursing facility. She was born Dec. 22, 1933, to Filimeno and Ula Nadine Silva in Springerville.

Betty grew up in Round Valley and graduated from Round Valley High School. She worked at the local drug store and bank, before marrying Nolan “Jack” Burk.

She loved to crochet and knit, loved animals and was an avid reader of mystery books.

Betty is survived by her sister, Anita; half-brother Malcom, both of Springerville; four children, Debbie of Joshua Tree, Calif., Shawn, Robin and David, all from Indio, Calif. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, nine boys and a girl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan “Jack” Burk.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Eagar Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held following services at the Best Western in the Breakfast Room located in Eagar.
