| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, June 19, 2016, page 5a Lee was born Feb.6, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. He died June 15, 2016 in Prescott, Arizona. Lee is survived by son, Jerry (Edie); daughter Jody Peterson; three grandsons, Craig (Rachel), Eric Yingling, Scott (Jenny) Yingling; two great-grandsons, Zane and Bridger Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee is preceded in death by Janet Esdohr, his wife of 67 years, who died March 8, 2016; his three sisters, Minnie, Rose and Lillian; and his parents, Alfonso Alfano and Grace Vitacco. Lee moved to Prescott in 1985 from Des Plaines, Illinois. While living in Des Plaines, Lee was an officer in the Des Plaines Police Department for 30 years, serving as Chief of Police for the last seven years. During Lee’s time as Police Chief, his department was responsible for the arrest and conviction of John Wayne Gacy. While living in Prescott, Lee lived his lifelong dream to become a cowboy. Lee was also a proud member of the Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse. Donations can be made to Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse, P.O. Box 95, Prescott, AZ., 86302. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on June 24, 2016, at Hampton Funeral Home. Gathering at Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse House from noon to 4 p.m. Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family. Information provided by survivors. |
