| Owens Livingston Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Charles Jerome LaGrassa, III April 28, 1931 - July 6, 2016 Charles Jerome "Chuck" LaGrassa, III, of Scottsdale, Arizona, died at his summer home in Show Low, Arizona on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was 85 years old. Chuck was born on a Tuesday, April 28, 1931 in Astoria, Long Island, New York to his father, Charles Jerome LaGrassa, Jr. and his mother, Dorothy (Dayton) LaGrassa. Chuck had lived in Arizona for the past 69 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and though he was not deployed overseas, he did serve during the Korean Conflict. Chuck received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1959. A kid at heart, Chuck loved playing baseball and umpiring. Throughout his long life, he always put and held the "Love of his family, first and foremost." Charles Jerome LaGrassa, III is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Patton LaGrassa; 2 daughters: Faith Ann LaGrassa (Kent) Coffer, Maryann LaGrassa (Ken) Benson; 3 grandchildren: Jonathan (Marta) Coffer, Benjamin Coffer, Amy Coffer; brother, William (Carol) LaGrassa; sister, Dorothy Wilson and his 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions, in his name, to The American Cancer Society, 4550 E. Bell Road, Suite #126, Phoenix, Arizona 85032 have been suggested by his family. |
