October 16, 1928 - August 4, 2016

On Thursday, August 4, 2016, Mary “Alice” Martinez Morales, 87, formally of Clifton, left her loving family and reunited with the love of her life, Joe Morales. She was born October 16, 1928 in Morenci, AZ to Joe & Guadalupe Martinez.

Alice grew up in the Morenci area graduating from Morenci High School. She fell in love with and then married Joe Morales on July 2, 1950 in Morenci and were married for 64 years. Together they raised four children; Kathy, Joe, Alex & David. Alice was a loving, kind, generous and strong person. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was very active at Sacred Heart Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Catechism teacher, singing in the Spanish Choir, Lector, Guadalupanas, cleaning the church, the Golden Girls and belonged to the Ladies Apostolate.

Alice is survived by her loving children, Kathy (Joe) Escobar, Joe (Gloria) Morales and David (Amanda) Morales, grandchildren; Sal, Edmond, Armand, Danny, Joseph, Adrian, Susie, Jacob, Alicia and many great-grandchildren, siblings; Alex (Linda) Martinez, Selena Martinez, Merle (Jim) McPherson, Vera (Walter) Garcia and Rosey Kroegel.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe, parents, Joe & Guadalupe Martinez, son Alex, grandsons Joseph and Angel Morales, great-granddaughter Camille Morales and siblings; Jimmy, Humberto (Bertha), Frank, Joe and Roger Martinez and Janet (Greg) Tellez.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the Rosary being led at 9:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton with interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci.
