Mine Accident Is Fatal To Nelson

(From Tuesday's Daily)

Another unfortunate miner, in O. A. Nelson, has met death by some manner of explosion not definitely known, the sad affair taking place Friday night at about 10 o'clock at the Blue Bell camp, near Mayer.

The deceased and a companion were working in one of the lower levels and the supposition is that the shot went off from causes that were supposed to be premature. The victim was badly injured about the head and body, and survive for a few minutes only. His companion also in range of the flying fragments but is not dangerously injured, and is under treatment at the Humboldt hospital.

The body of Nelson was brought to this city last night and is at Ruffner's mortuary to be prepared for burial. A brother accompanied the remains.

The deceased had worked at mining throughout the West for many years and was aged about 44 years.

Transcriber's note: Mr. Nelson is buried at the Citizens Cemetery, in Prescott, Arizona.
