Robert K. "Pete" Minter, 84 of Cottonwood, passed away on July 23, 2016.

He was born on November 17, 1931 in Glendale, AZ to Herman and Violet Lewis Minter.

Pete attended school in Mayer and Prescott. Pete served his country as Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Hawaii.

Pete was the owner of Pete's Val Verde Appliance Store.

He enjoyed wood working and being with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Pete was preceded in death by brothers Bernard Minter, Raymond Minter and Ralph Minter; sister Florence Lockwood; parents Herman and Violet Minter and daughters Kathleen Jay Rood and Lana Lee Cahill.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ann C. Minter; son James Moore (Valli) of Cottonwood; daughters Ruth Ann Minter of Prescott and Ann Archuletta (David) of Flagstaff; 11 grandchildren: Manny Perez of Mayor, JoAnn Perez of OR, Robert Perez of Seligman, Bruce Mewland of CA, James Moore Jr. of Peoria, Brea Moore of Gilbert, Cassidy Larkin of Casa Grande, Shawnee Doherty of IL, Kathleen Beavers, Gary Rood of CA and Billy Rood of NJ; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held for Pete on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
