Naomi Jane Halstead, 85, of Camp Verde, Arizona died on Saturday, July 23, 2016. She was born on December 12, 1930 in Clarkdale, Arizona to Henry and Daisy Russell.

Naomi was a factory worker and a member of the Parkside Community Church in Camp Verde.

She was a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation; she spoke fluent Yavapai and taught the language to others. Naomi enjoyed visiting with everyone.

Naomi is survived by her husband, Samuel T. Halstead; sons, Rod Halstead and Brett Halstead; sister, Patricia Lopez; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Naomi is preceded in death by her brothers, Ned Russell, Nathaniel Russell, Rudy Russell and Bobby Russell.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Camp Verde Rock Church (Yavapai-Apache Nation).
