Rick Lane Evans, 62, was born on May 4, 1954 in Miami, Arizona. Mr. Evans passed away on July 30, 2016 in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Rick attended school in Globe, Arizona and graduated from the East Fork Lutheran Mission High School in Whiteriver, Arizona. He also worked at the Inspiration Copper Mine, the Yavapai Apache Nation Visitor Center, and as a public safety supervisor at Cliff Castle Casino for the last 22 years. Rick was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Cottonwood.

He took pride in maintaining his yard and home. He loved all types of music and talking with anyone that he came across, especially to those who understood and could speak Apache with him. His favorite past time was watching football and basketball games on TV. He loved to read, and visit with family at his home. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Flora (Waterman) Evans; and his sister Lucille Howell.

Rick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kristie Sue (Polk) Evans of Middle Verde, his daughter Nadie (Thomas) Beauty of Middle Verde, his son Richard Evans of Middle Verde, his sister Linda Evans of Clarkdale, his sister Anna (Gabriel) Jackson of Middle Verde and three grandchildren: Joel, Jared, and Anthony.

Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, in Cottonwood. Visitation will be held between 8-9 a.m. and the Funeral Service will start at 9 a.m.
