| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, July 14, 2016 Bruce Gallagher, 73, left this earth to go to his heavenly reward on Wednesday, July 7, 2016, after a two-year battle with cancer, at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona. Bruce spent most of his life in Michigan, retiring from his employment of 30 years in the prison system with the state of Michigan in 1994. He served in the Armed Forces from 1961 to 1963. In 2005 he relocated to Arizona, where he met his wife, Dorothy. Bruce considered himself a snowbird and would winter in the desert. He loved searching for ghost towns and abandoned gold mines. He was very proud of his Catholic faith and was very active at St. Germaine’s Catholic Church in Prescott Valley and at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wenden, Arizona. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and an active member of the Arizona Rangers, Lonesome Valley Company, until he resigned because of health issues. His life was dedicated to charity and service. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Adah Gallagher; brother, John; Bruce was a triplet and preceded in death by his sister, Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Prescott Valley, Arizona; son, Dawson (Kistin) Gallagher of Michigan; daughter, Denise (Eric) Deuker of Michigan; grandchildren, Aidan and Caitlin Deuker of Michigan; sisters, Beatrice (Bob) Goodrich of Michigan, Joyce White of Oklahoma, Pat (Dennis) Bassett of Michigan; brother, Bob Gallagher of Texas; step son, Bill (Robin) Jones of Prescott, Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a Visitation and Rosary with a Mass to follow starting at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at the St. Germaine’s Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Arizona.
