| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, July 26, 2016 Elliott Monroe Mackey, 77, long-time Prescott resident, died peacefully after declining health on July 15, 2016. Preceded in death by father Karren and mother Kathryn, he was born in Phoenix on April 7, 1939. Growing up in the wild west back then instilled in him a true love of the outdoors that never left him. His headstrong ways in combination with a lack of subtlety sent him from West Phoenix High School to Sewanee Military Academy in Tennessee for additional … ahem … schooling. Upon graduating he came back to Arizona to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State much to the delight of his parents. Shortly thereafter he left for Chicago to find fame and fortune … okay mostly fortune. He became an entrepreneur utilizing his skills to build and open a successful carwash while also securing various mechanical patents within the business. Unfortunately, with a dearth of fishing, hunting and boonie stomping for this restless spirit, he went where a wealth of outdoor activities were to be found: Missoula, Montana. While there he opened a Mexican restaurant and obtained his Master Electrician’s license. Alas, cold winters and a scarcity of women eventually sent him back to Phoenix and finally Prescott. He is survived by his loving children Leonard Spale of California, Danny Spale of Colorado, Kenny Spale of Nevada, Pammy Cahill of Illinois, Lori Spale of Nevada; and grandchildren Sarah Spale of California, Shayden Elliott Spale of California, Blake Spale of North Carolina, Eric Spale of Colorado, Alicen Tischler of Colorado, Troy Westover of Nevada, Dana Westover of Nevada, Shane Westover of Nevada, Blair Kuzma of Illinois, Kyle Donofrio of California, Ryan Cahill of Illinois, and especially Connor Cahill of Illinois. His lone sibling Marianna Schroeder still resides in Glendale, Arizona. The funeral and memorial services will take place at 9 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. in Prescott, followed by his burial at Heritage Memorial Park, 12010 Heritage Memorial Lane in Dewey at approximately noon. A reception celebrating his life will take place immediately afterwards at his home located in Prescott at 6135 N. Bailey Ave. off Williamson Valley Road and McIntosh. ALL friends, associates and acquaintances are welcome to stop by at anytime – Elliott’s family would love to meet you. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary.
