| Camp Verde Bugle, Cottonwood, Arizona Thursday, August 18, 2016 Robert D. Kater "Washboard Bob", 65 of Cottonwood, passed away on August 7, 2016 at home. He was born on July 27, 1951 in Chicago, IL to George and Dorothy Kater. Bob was a landscaper. He took care of God's beautiful earth and in return she gives us oxygen to breathe, dance, laugh and share. Bob spent his life dedicated to his family, friends and the homeless. Bob loved music. He wanted to show love, hope and peace through his music. He lived by the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Bob was preceded in death by his father George Kater. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Carol Vance; sons Eric Kater of Cottonwood and Joel Sarrett of Russellville, AR; daughters Alisha Reynolds and Bobbie-Jean Kater, both of Cottonwood; brothers Mark Kater (Sharon) of Chicago and Michael Kater (Elaine) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister Penny Stockwell (Mickey) of Needles, CA; mother Dorothy Kater; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 27 from 2 pm to 7 pm at Bob & Carol Kater's house. This will be potluck and BYOB.
