Robert Thomas Ward, 91, of Tappan, New York, and Prescott, Arizona, died on Aug. 9, 2016. He graduated from Bogota High School and Montclair State in New Jersey.

During WWII, Robert served in the 6th Armored Division, 3rd Army, commanded by General George S. Patton.

Mr. Ward was a teacher and administrator in the Fair Lawn Public Schools for 32 years.

Of his many interests, Robert was extremely proud of his work with the Ridgewood, New Jersey, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company.

Mr. Ward is survived by his son, James, and daughter-in-law, Eugenia of Prescott, Arizona; along with his step-daughter, Susan, and her husband, Mark Sullivan, of San Francisco. He is also survived by his step-son, James O’Hea of Breckenridge, Colorado; and his nephew, Robert von Behr, and wife, Virginia, of Old Chatham, New York.

Robert is pre-deceased by his wife, Joan, his step-daughter, Carol, and his sister, Ruth von Behr. Mrs. Ward was a librarian at Pomona Jr. High School, Pomona, New York.
