| Owens Livingston Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Jack Don Long August 22, 1948 - July 29, 2016 Though the color has left his cheeks and his heart no longer beats, he will forever live in the hearts of everyone he meets. Jack Don Long passed into his Father’s arms on Friday, July 29th, 2016, in Show Low, Arizona, at the age of 67. Born in Pampa, Texas, and raised in Arizona, he thrived on adventure. As a young man, he served three tours in Vietnam then went on to work in the sand and gravel industry for 44 years. He spent the last six years camp hosting in The White Mountains of Arizona. When he wasn’t working, he loved traveling the world with his family and lived his life by the motto, “I’d rather be fishing”. Jack’s legacy is survived by his middle school sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Rebecca Sue Long; daughter and son-in-law Kim and John Lopez; son Jay Long; son and daughter-in-law Tracy and Holly Long; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Garry, Glyn and Ron Long. “His blood runs through my veins. His love is in my heart. His memories will remain…that's a good enough start. I've lost a great man; a man that was loving and kind. I just wish I could understand. I feel like I'm losing my mind. He stood tall and proud for his family never letting them down. It's just such a tragedy. Losing him turned my smile into a frown. I'm deeply blessed for my time with him for he was great man.” – Hannah Long, granddaughter Two special memorial services will be held and a luncheon with reception will be included at each one. The first memorial service will be from 12 Noon to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, August 14, 2016, at West Wing - Mountain Community Center, 27008 N.
