He was born June 3, 1938, in Los Angeles, Calif., to William Joseph and Sara Jane Braun. Dad has been called home, lovingly surrounded by family. Andy made his debut in Los Angeles, Calif., raised as a Catholic; he served as an altar boy and considered becoming a Franciscan monk. As a young man, Andy headed north to the Sierra Mountains, where he pursued hobbies of the great outdoors, also, honing in on carpentry as his skill and trade. Andy spent his family rearing years along the Colorado River, building up Parker, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead. He worked hard and gained respect. Pre-retirement brought Andy and family to Round Valley and back to his beloved mountains. He joined the Eagar Fire Department and U.S. Forest Service, working in wildfire security and recreation. “We dearly remember Andy as husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa to 10 kids. Dad was warm, loving, caring and kind. Round Valley will remember him as Santa, posing for photos with people and pets as he rode atop the fire truck at the end of the night light parade. We will get our next bear hugs in heaven.” He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Braun and Sara Jane Braun; brother Bill; and sisters Teresa and Marie. Andrew is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Braun of 44 years; sons Jim (Beth) McGowan, Kevin (Michelle) McGowan and Andy (Brandy) Braun; daughter Shelly (Shawn) Kimmell, niece Donna Strawn; nephew James Braun; grandchildren Aimee (Jared), Amber (James), Alexandria, Adrian, Sierra (Michael), Ashley, Tod, Dallas, Jynger, Cody and Mason; and 10 great grandkids.
