| Arizona Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, March 23, 1898, page 3 E. G. Moden, father of City Assessor, E. B. Moden, died very suddenly Sunday morning at the residence of his son in Prescott. He had complained on Saturday of a pain in the region of his heart, but nothing serious was thought of, as he was around as usual. Shortly after 8 o'clock on Sunday morning he was found dead in the yard by his little grandson. Deceased was a native of Sweden and was 71 years old. He leaves four married daughters in San Francisco. He served in the United States navy prior to the war of the rebellion and was in the service of the United States during the later period. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock and in the numerous friends of the family was attended by Barrett Post G.A.R. and by the Prescott lodge A.O.U.W.
