| Camp Verde Bugle, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, September, 24, 2016 On September 14, 2016, Stanley Leroy Blue passed away peacefully at his home in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born on September 16, 1932 in Portland, Oregon, to Floyd and Madge Blue. He graduated from West Linn High School in West Linn, Oregon in 1950. In 1951, he joined the US Navy and served aboard the destroyer USS Jenkins DDE 447 as a radar man. After his tour of duty, he returned to the Portland area and married Patricia (Kroutwick) in Toledo, OR. The couple began their family and had two daughters, Marchelle Lynn and Katherine Jean. He studied chemical engineering at both Portland State University and Oregon State University, and ultimately achieved the status of "Registered Professional Engineer". He loved to travel and explore and the family enjoyed many incredible and memorable adventures. Through the years he was also involved in the organizations of the Elks and Jaycees. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Kroutwick) Blue; parents, Floyd and Madge Blue; and by his brother, Patrick Blue. He is survived by his daughters Marchelle Blue (David Burch) and Katherine (James) Miller; brother Keith (Marilyn) Blue; and grandson, Lukas Burch and many beloved nieces and nephews. Stanley was devoted to providing the best for his family. He was a success in every way possible. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation, best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans' families can stay while a loved one is receiving treatment.
