| Camp Verde Bugle, Cottonwood, Arizona Tuesday, September, 27, 2016 Richard Smith passed away at home on Sept. 1, 2016, after a long illness. He was born in Kansas City, MO on December 15, 1951 to Clarence and Doris Smith. Rick lived in several states, but Arizona was his favorite, having lived in Sedona and Camp Verde in the 1980s and in Cottonwood for the past 23 years. At age 19, he served in the Vietnam War. He was a quiet, intelligent man with a quick wit and great sense of humor. He would lend a helping hand to anyone, liked fishing, & was a voracious reader of history books, especially the Civil War. He was a fantastic woodworker. If he put his mind to it, he could fix or build almost anything. Rick will be missed and his memory will be cherished and never forgotten by those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Colleen, his daughters Heather Martin (Todd) and Sandra Tinall (Brandon) and his grandchildren Nathan, Holly, Joshua, James and Emily. Also his siblings Dave, Teresa, Janis, Phil and Marti. There will be no services per his wishes. Information provided by survivors. |
