Esther Summers, 97, peacefully passed into heaven Sept. 19, 2016, at Good Samaritan Village in Prescott, Arizona. She was born May 23, 1919, in Morgan County, Indiana, to Melvin and Myrtie (Haire) Willis.

Esther married Raymond “Tom” Summers Nov. 23, 1938, in Lafayette, Indiana. They moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1948 where she lived nearly 40 years before moving to Prescott in 1987. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life truly reflected His love and those who knew her were blessed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; son Michael Summers; and son-in-law Bill Graves. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law - Sharon Sue Graves of Tucson and Sara and Mark Hayden of Prescott; as well as nine grandchildren - Jennifer Graves, Jeff (Melissa) Graves, Tim (Slade) Graves, Laura Sue (Craig) Mathews, Mark (Sarka) Summers, Samuel (Amy) Hayden, Hannah Hayden, Katie Hayden, Levi Hayden; and many great grandchildren.

She was loved by many friends and cared for so well by everyone at Good Samaritan Society Prescott Village. Thank you to you all for making her life so rich, her last year so enjoyable, and her final days so sweet.

There will be a family graveside service in Tucson. Esther did not want attention drawn to her life but rather the life of Jesus - His love, forgiveness and free gift of grace. She would have invited you to worship at Prescott Christian Church or any church of your choice, so you could get to know Jesus like she knew Him. And she knew Him well.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s honor to her two favorite ministries: West Yavapai Young Life, P.O. Box 1728, Prescott, AZ 86302 (www.westyavapai.younglife.org) and/or Teen Challenge of Arizona, P.O. Box 5966, Tucson, AZ 85703 (www.tcaz.org)

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
