| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Tuesday, September 27, 2016 Joyce Ann Damron (Krause), 75, lost her battle to cancer on Sept. 21, 2016. Born in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Oct. 30, 1940, Joyce and her husband of 54 years, Thomas W. Damron moved to Phoenix in 1966. Joyce loved fishing and camping in the White Mountains and going to almost every lake and campsite in Arizona. She established her career at a major credit card company and retired in 1992 after 20 years. Joyce and her husband traveled for the next six years making every state a priority. After their amazing journey, they moved to Wickenburg where Joyce started volunteering at the Wickenburg hospital in the gift shop as manager/buyer. Shopping was a favorite pastime, and perfect for the task of increasing sales to generate income for the hospital. Joyce, being very committed, also helped organize the annual balls to help raise money for the hospital. Joyce was a very out-going, fun loving person and most of all loved Bingo. Joyce will be deeply missed by all her family and friends and never forgotten. Joyce was preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas B. She is survived by her loving husband Tom; daughter Mary C. (Christian); daughter Laura Lee; son Christopher W. (Janet); grandchildren, Kenneth, Christian, Alicia and Zachary. Services will be held at David’s Desert Chapel at 325 W Yavapai St. on Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of the Valley in her honor. Arrangements are being handled through David’s Desert Chapel. |
