| Arizona Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, March 25, 1896, page 3, column 5 John L. Taylor, one of the early pioneers of Prescott, passed away this afternoon after a few days illness, suffering with pneumonia. In days gone, Mr. Taylor was a prominent in the political sphere in Yavapai, being appointed sheriff of the county and serving a such during the years of 1969 and '70. Since then he has devoted his life to various pursuits, principally that of mining. He was 64 years of age and a native of Kentucky. ---------------------------------------- Arizona Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, March 25, 1896, page 3, column 5 From Tuesday's Daily - The funeral of the late John L. Taylor took place this afternoon and many old pioneers follow the remains of their old friend to his last resting place. Mr. Taylor had many friends among all classes during his life, and sincere regret is expressed over his untimely end. He came from Kentucky to Prescott in 1867, and had resided in Prescott contiguously since that time. Transcriber's note: Mr. Taylor is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
