Fever Fatal To Colored Youth
Henry Taylor, 23, colored man, residing at 142 South Virginia street. died around 10 o'clock at his home last night, following a long siege of malta fever, sometimes referred to as goat fever, it was reported today.
He came to Prescott about two years ago from Dallas, Texas, to join his family, whose residence in Prescott has extended over a period of many years. He had been employed as porter at the Palace barber shop until last April, when he was taken sick with the fever.
Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the People's A.M.E. Zion church on South Montezuma street and burial will take place in the Citizens Cemetery.
Survivors include the young man's father, Wade Taylor; a step-mother; a brother Jerome, employed as porter at the Julius Jacoby barber shop; another brother, Lambert, who attends the public schools here; and a sister, Marie Taylor, who attends the Prescott High school The father is employed at the Prescott post-office.
