Betty June Olea Gonzalez was born August 28, 1936 and raised in Prescott, Arizona. She attended Miller Valley Elementary and graduated in 1954 from Prescott High School, after which she earned a certificate in Finance Management at the U of A.

She was the grandchild of two Prescott homesteading pioneer families, the Contreras Ranch and the Olea Homestead. She was also a proud member of the Arizona Junior Cattle Growers, Sacred Heart Clarets, Prescott Jayets, Credit Union National Association, and Arizona Credit Union League! Her big love was working with the credit union over 40 years and helping members improve their financial lives!

Betty retired after 20 years with Arizona Portland Cement Company and enjoyed a long retirement in Tucson and Prescott. She especially enjoyed her "lunch dates" with the girls!

Everyone knows she loved a party or a parade! Her favorite being the 4th of July parade in Prescott! She was also very proud of her great great uncle Juan Leivas who won a trophy that is in the Sharlot Hall Museum collection. She loved to travel with family and friends, anywhere there was water (especially Lake Powell!)

Her family and friends miss this intelligent, kind, generous and gracious woman more than words can say! She never knew a stranger as everyone she met was worth listening to and talking with. She enjoyed her life and adored her family! She will forever be missed by family and those lucky enough to have been her friend. She will always be in our hearts remembering her kindness, caring, generosity and grace.

We cannot thank her incredible team of Prescott and Tucson doctors and caregivers enough!

After a courageous battle Betty passed away September 23, 2016, and is survived by her husband, Joe P Gonzalez; son Steven Gonzalez (Hanya); daughter Judy Gonzalez-Olea; grandson J. Christian Gonzalez-Carreon in addition to countless nieces , nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by father Frank H. Olea, mother Irene Contreras Olea Hilberts; brother Frank (Tom) Olea; and step-brother Richard Hilberts.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at Prescott's Sacred Heart Church December 3, 2016. Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
