Loeta Joyce (McMackin) Bahn

Loeta Joyce McMackin Bahn, 82, passed away on October 11, 2016 in Prescott, Arizona following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 16, 1934, to Trudell Marie Bishop McMackins (deceased) and Oren Aubrey McMackins (deceased).

She was predeceased by siblings: Wallace Martin, Dudley McMackin and niece, Michelle Harris(Dan) Rockwell.

Mrs. Bahn is survived by sister Carol McMackin (Robert) Harris of Prescott, Arizona and Charles F. Bahn, husband of 40 years; step children, Martel Bahn(Robert) Plummer, of McCordsville, Indiana, Charles F. Bahn, Jr., of Auroro, Missouri, Christopher F. (Geri) Bahn, of St. Louis, Missouri, R. Stuart(Amy) Bahn, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Stephen A. (Yvette) Bahn, of Cleveland, Tennessee, eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; great nephew and niece and special friend Pam Norder of Prescott, Arizona.

Loeta spent her early childhood in Caruthersville, Missouri. In adulthood, she moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where she worked as a commercial artist.

Loeta married Charles F. Bahn, MD on September 25, 1976 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and quickly stepped into a household of five teenage and young adult children, after the death of their mother. Upon Dr.

Bahn’s retirement, they moved to Prescott, Arizona, where she has lived for 28 years. As an active member of Solid Rock Christian Fellowship (formerly First Baptist Church of Prescott), she participated in numerous activities of the Praise Sunday School Class.

Many things gave Loeta joy. Her strong faith in Jesus was the solid foundation for everything in her life. She was gifted with creativity and was an accomplished oil landscape painter, earning many best-in-show ribbons and awards at local Arizona art shows. She played piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She had a tender heart for all living things. Javelina, deer, quail and songbirds were regular visitors at their bird bath and bird feeder.

Visitation will be held at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship Church, 148 S. Marina, Prescott, Arizona, on Sunday October 23, 2016 from 2 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Prescott Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301 or Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, 148 S. Marina St. Prescott, AZ 86301. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at a later date.

The family especially thanks the staff of Alta Vista Retirement Community, Accent Care and Good Samaritan Hospice for their love and care.
